ROUND 5 – WARATAH SHOWJUMPING SYDNEY
The Waratah Showjumping Leg of the Australian FEI World Cup Qualifying Series has created a log-jam at the top of the leaderboard. With just three Legs to go, it has become a race between the top four for the title and the chance to represent Australia at the FEI World Cup Finals in Riyadh, next April.
Tom McDermott who was tied in the lead before Waratah, now has the outright lead with his sixth placing in the class, scoring him 11 points and advancing his total to 65. Amber Fuller, the Waratah Leg winner, picked up the maximum 20 points and to sit just one point adrift of Tom with 64 points. Sarah McMillan, who was previously tied for the lead, placed eleventh, earning eight addition points to take her total to 62. In fourth place, on 60 points, sits Madeline Sinderberry with her second placing earning her 17 points.
With riders currently ranked between fifth and ninth all having scores in the 30’s, any of these could make a charge for the title, particularly if they compete in the three remaining legs.
