It was a glorious weekend at Sydney International Equestrian Centre (SIEC) with activity across 2 outdoor arenas and in a first for The Rider’s Series, the indoor arena.

We saw a number of great classes on the beautiful new surface in the indoor arena over the two days, culminating in the 1.50m yesterday afternoon. After such a big weekend and with Waratah Showjumping on at the same location next week, there were only a few game to take on the big class at the end of the day, but those that did certainly gave it their all and we saw some great jumping.

Alison Rowland delivered an early clear on Glenara Cognac and it came down to the final combination, Tom McDermott and Yalambi’s Finnigan, who looked like they were going to take the win off Rowland right up until the last fence where they caught a rail and McDermott, gracious as ever, conceded defeat but undoubtably still delighted by Finnigan’s performance over the big track.
