Final Rider Rankings for 2018/19
The final event of Australian 2018-19 World Cup Qualifier season took place at Sale last Sunday (3rd of February). Aaron Hadlow, who had the series won before the final round, was a deserved winner of the series by a clear nine point margin over Kate Hinchen in second and Billy Raymont, ten points further back in third place.
Raymont, who competed in only three rounds, could be considered a little unlucky as he won each round he contested, however, WEG and other overseas commitments kept his participation to a minimum. Clint Beresford, who took out two of the first three rounds did not improve his score over the last seven rounds, which saw his early lead slowly pared back to eventually finish fourth. Five other riders won a single round each, namely, Aaron Hadlow, Jasmine Dennison, Kate Hinschen, Adam Metcalfe and Brook Langbecker. It was great to see several of these riders take out their first class at World Cup level.
Despite winning once in Gatton, consistent performances were the key to Hadlow’s success. He competed in every round, except for the two in Adelaide, and has been rewarded for his efforts by taking out the Series. Hadlow’s horse Vahlinvader, was also the leading horse of the World Cup Series.
In all 57 riders competed over the ten rounds of the series with almost all of them scoring some points in the series. Australian Jumping congratulates all riders on their performances throughout the series.
