State Teams ready to battle at SIEC
Above: Senior Champions Team Queensland from the 2022 AJC Championships.
Teams have been announced for the Senior, Young Rider and Junior Interstate Competitions to be held as part of the Australian Jumping Championships at Sydney International Equestrian Centre. Performances in each of the first and second (first round only) qualifying competitions of the Senior, Young Rider and Junior Championships, will be amalgamated to determine the winning state in each category. Congratulations to all those selected and the best of luck in the competitions.
Selected teams are as follows:
SENIOR COMPETITION
NSW –Amber Fuller and Nopal Van Tallaert, Aaron Hadlow and Vahlinvader, Tom McDermott and Cooley Gangster and Madeline Sinderberry and Camie Z (Reserve – Jamie Winning-Kermond and Tulara Stolensky). The Chef d’equip for this team is Colleen Brook.
QLD – Clem Smith and Oaks Conjuror, Mattea Davidson and Checkamour D, Sam Overton and Oaks Cassanova and Stuart Jenkins and Fairview Alicana.
VIC – Phillip Lever and Billionaire NZPH, Jess Pateman and Celso and Russell Johnstone and Daprice.
The Senior Competition has been won by Queensland for the past two years and with three combinations from their victorious team in 2022 returning this year, they again look to be very strong. The only change to their team is Stuart Jenkins and Fairview Alicana replacing Olivia Hamood and Jane Fonda DVD. This new combination has already proved their value to the team having won the first round of the Senior Championship yesterday.
YOUNG RIDER COMPETITION
NSW – Georgia Bouzaid and Vitess, Clemency Hughes and YPH Capulet, Ella Silk and Redgum Conan and Annaliese Wansey and Texas. (Reserve – Claire Zylstra and Harvey B). The Chef d’equip for this team is Vicki Roycroft.
QLD – Fuschia Criss and Dual Diamond, Chase Naylor and Misty Blue Ego Z, Ben Bates and Beltana Quintessential and Simone Sorensen and Viva Blue.
VIC – Hayden Parker and Tulara Spangenberg, Tilley Fair and Oaks Constantino, Olivia Price and Chio MS and Jack Barker and Tulara Colchic.
The Victorian team will be looking to defend this title which they won last year. With two of the team returning from last year along with the in-form Jack Barker and Tulara Colchic joining the team, they look to have a strong chance of doing so.
JUNIOR COMPETITION
NSW – Hannah Doolan and Ashleigh City Lights, Charlie Magnier and Notre Dame de Bourguignon, Jett Newman and Wanda, Jake Tomlinson and Vinchino. (Reserve – Molly Mooney and JB Evolution). The Chef d’equip for this team is Rod Brown.
QLD – Olivia Hewitt-Toms and Celerity Park LM Star, Cody Tincknell and Conquest IMP, Holly Tomkins and Finch Farm Vroom and Skye Hosie and Athena NZPH (Reserve – James Hosie and Kiwi Storm).
VIC – Molly Lawrence and Carabel P, Sienna Holdsworth-Rose and Coolart Farm Short Torque, Elissa Stephens and Da Vince, Olivia Price and Lafayette. (Reserves – Charlee Dobbin and Cloud Gate or Castalada 11 and Jack Barker and Tulara For Quinar).
The Queensland team will be attempting to defend their title win from last year. Only one combination from that team, Olivia Hewitt-Toms and Celerity Park LM Star, return this year and the competition looks to be wide open.
We wish all competitors from all states the best of luck in representing their state.
