Jamie Winning-Kermond in pole position for Senior Title
The second and final preliminary round of the 2025 Pet Circle Australian Jumping Championships Senior Title has concluded on the Main arena at Boneo Park This afternoon. The class represented the last opportunity for combinations to fight their way into the top 20 to qualify for Saturday’s big final which not only has the Australian Senior Title up for grabs, but $25,000 in total prize money.

There were 33 combinations on the start list which produced eight clear rounds which created the need for an exciting jump off.
The jump-off produced a further six clear rounds, the fastest of which was achieved by Jamie Winning-Kermond and the mare Tulara Wat Colblensky who were home in 41.23 seconds. The Queensland based combination of Gemma Creighton and Dada Des Brimbelles Z placed second in a time of 42.89 seconds, improving on their seventh place in the first round. Tom McDermott and Oaks Ventriloquist repeated their third placing yesterday, finishing in a time of 44.23 seconds. Tom along with Cooley Gangster on which he won yesterday’s first round, took their first rail of the Championship in the jump off to finish seventh.

The final of the Pet Circle Senior Championship will be held on Saturday. All combinations that competed in the first two preliminary rounds have been ranked based on their combined performance across the two rounds and the top 20 have been invited to compete in that final.

The best performed combination across the two classes was Jamie Winning-Kermond and Tulara Wat Colblensky after their second place yesterday and their win today. They will go into Saturday’s final on zero penalties. The rest of the combinations will start the final carrying a number of penalties commensurate with the distance between them and the leader

This sets up what promises to be very memorable final, with six combinations within a rail of the lead. With all these great combinations going into the final so close together, it is likely that the winner will be the pair who put together a perfect two round performance in the final. If more than one of them are perfect, who might need a jump off to sort out the winner just like last year. We can hardly wait until Saturday.
