The first final decided this morning on the fifth day of the 2025 Pet Circle Australian Jumping Championships was the Holsteiner Verband Future Stars Championship. A total of 26 of the most promising 6,7 and 8 year olds who had qualified for the final through two preliminary rounds were out to do their best, all striving for their share of almost $6,000 in prizemoney.

After the first round exactly half of the field had put in a clear performance, so we had a tantalising jump off to look forward to and it certainly delivered.

Early in the jump off, Robert Palm and Glenara Argyle produced the first double clear, propelling them to the top of the leader board. There they stayed until Chris Chugg and the full sister to the great Cristalline, Cristallina entered the arena. They went clear and with a time more than 2.5 seconds quicker than anyone before them, they slotted into the lead. Their time of 45.04 looked like it would be enough to win, however, that was until the last to combinations in the draw took to the course.

The first of these was Frida Lindgren and the mare Threemc Lumeah, who put in a scintillating round, going double clear in 42.05, taking the lead by the best part of three seconds. It was going to be a tall order for the final combination Sam Williams and Bellatrix VP to beat that, however, having won the second qualifying round on Friday, everybody knew they were a chance.

They did not disappoint. A clear round in a time of 41.67 not only took the win but left the crowd breathless. This daughter of the legendary Big Star certainly looks to have a big future in the sport.
