Three days of magnificent jumping competition wrapped up this afternoon at Willinga Park, with the final day of the 2022 NSW State Titles. Having to withstand a last-minute change of venue from Canberra to Bawley Point, it is a credit to the committee who made the brave decision.
The first class of the day was the final of the Horseland Canberra NSW Children’s Title which provided entertaining viewing for those up and about early. The win today went to Sienna Holdsworth-Rose and Coolart Farm Short Torque who in a scintillating jump off, were more than six seconds faster than the only other double clear combination Jada Burgun and Missile Higgins. However, it was only enough to finish in fifth place in the championship. The NSW State Children’s Title was awarded to Victorian Zara Adnams and Tally Ho Primrose who finished fourth today, after placing second and first on the previous two days. Just to prove her dominance Adnams and Dingmac Disco King were placed second in the championship, while consistent performances across the three days saw Jake Tomlinson and Marley awarded third place. The final Children’s Pointscore can be downloaded HERE.
The Willinga Park NSW Junior Title had its Grand Prix Round next on the Trailrace main arena. In a fantastic performance, there was only one combination to go double clear today and that was Ella Hayward and Edena DP. Along with their win on Friday in Round 1, it was enough to claim the NSW Junior Title. Winners of the second round on Saturday, Sophie Baldwin and CW Conquest were placed second in the championship and Charly Robinson-Smith and Martango, who were unplaced today, did enough on the first two days to secure third place in the championship. See the final Junior Pointscore HERE.
The final of the Ouverture Sport Horse Mini-Prix championship was won today by James Paterson-Robertson and Dublin, repeating their win in the first round on Friday. Unfortunately, for this combination, a fall in Saturday’s second round cost them victory in the Mini Prix Championship. That honour went to Andrew Inglis and Alillie, who were rewarded for consistency, with a second placing and two thirds across the three days of competition. Amelia Douglas and Yalambis Jadore finished both second today and second in the championship. Third place in the championship went to Jamie Priestley and Oaks Diamantina. The final Mini-Prix Pointscore can be downloaded HERE.

The winning combination in today’s Team Priestley NSW Young Rider Title Grand Prix were Tori Cureton and Equus Archer, which, when added to their win in Round 2 yesterday, was enough to take the NSW Young Rider Title. Second place in the overall title went to Kelly Bridgland and Showtym Burrow with Lara Christoffelsz and Yalambis Jasmine. See the final Young Rider Pointscore HERE.
The CWD Futurity Championship Final was won today by Rhys Stones and Riverton Kantadoor after being the only combination in the class to go double clear. In a very close Futurity Championship race, it was just enough to secure the overall Futurity championship, just clear of Matt Irvine and Greengrove Calle I who won both the first and the second rounds. Andrew Inglis and Laracas were third in the championship.
Matt Irvine, however, was not to be denied victory in the Kelvin Grove Breeders Plate Championship. He and Chalina DP were double clear winners in today’s final, which along with a second place in Round 1 and a win in Round 2, made them the clear championship winners. Second place in the championship went to the Round 1 winners, Tara Sheridan and Views Reflection, with third place going to Jamie Priestley and Team Priestley Kitara Lanson.
In the Amateur Championship, Alisa Williams and Willybling went into today’s Penelope Store NSW Amateur Title Grand Prix as the leader of the field on zero penalties and a pair of clear rounds ensured that they stayed there, taking the win in the Grand Prix as well as the overall championship. Isabella Hughes and Beethoven were placed second in the championship and Jordan Pryor and APH Illuminate were third.
The winners of the feature event of the day, the Dowse Projects NSW Senior Title Grand Prix, in the only double clear performance of the class were Amber Fuller and Nopal Van Tallaert. Along with their win on Friday in Round 1, it was enough for them to be crowned 2022 NSW Senior champions. In second place today were Izabella Stone and Oaks Ventriloquist, who also finished second in the overall championship. Third place in the championship was awarded to the very consistent combination of Amelia Douglass and Finch Farm Cadel. See the final Pointscore HERE.
