It is the title that everybody wants – Australian Jumping Champion. Now, due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the Australian Jumping Championships for 2020 have been cancelled. Only the second time this has happened since the inaugural event in 1960!
For the past two years, the Pryde’s Easifeed Australian Jumping Championships have been held at Boneo Park. This beautiful facility has hosted some exciting moments and we were certainly in anticipation of more this year. Sadly, despite the best efforts of the organisers, the restrictions in place mean that the event cannot be held this year we will need to wait until 2021 for more Australian Jumping Championship action.
The history in this event and the prestige that comes with being named Australian Senior Jumping Champion is undeniable. In 2018 we watched Amber Fuller and CP Aretino jump to victory and take the title. Last year, going one better than their second placing in 2018 was Tom McDermott and his mare Elegance De La Charmille.

As we come to terms with this news today, let’s take a moment to look at the names added to the Championship roll of honour throughout history and who can call themselves Australian Jumping Senior Champions.
