Brilliant Result for Rowan Willis and Blue Movie In Rolex Grand Slam
The Spruce Meadows Masters has given us the highest level of jumping over the past five days and culminated yesterday afternoon (this morning AEST) in the Rolex Grand Slam. The richest showjumping competition on the calendar, with an incredible price pool of US$3,000,000 and US$1,000,000 to the winner, was breathtaking to say the least.

With 33 of the world’s best taking on the massive 1.70m course in the stunning International Arena at Spruce Meadows, Australian Rowan Willis and his mare Blue Movie performed superbly, finishing 9th in Round 1 with four penalties but in the fastest time. Coming into Round 2, against riders such as Eric Lamaze, Maikel van der Vleuten, Steve Guerdat and Beezie Madden, Willis started the round in fine style, unfortunately having a couple of rails down right at the end – finishing the class in 11th place overall. Willis and Blue Movie now head to the Tryon International Equestrian Center, North Carolina for the 2018 FEI World Equestrian Games.
