Chloe Versteegen – Jumping around the world
This time last year, Western Australian Chloe Versteegen was celebrating a fantastic week at Sydney Royal after taking out the prestigious Most Successful Girl Rider for 2021. We caught up with Chloe at the Australian Jumping Championships at Boneo Park earlier this year and learned about her exciting opportunity to train with Australian Olympian Matt Williams.
We recently had a quick checked-in with Chloe to see how her overseas travels have been going.
She has competed on both sides of the United States. Firstly, it was on the West Coast at the Desert International Tour in California where Chloe reports that she and a mare named Adara managed an 8th placing in the low Juniors. Then it was off to the wonderful World Equestrian Centre (WEC) in Florida, where she combined with Rowan Willis’s Captain MZ in the low juniors as well. Following this, she also competed at HITS in Ocala with an 8-year-old Numero Uno stallion named Geronimo, where they managed a fourth placing.
Chloe says “It’s been so amazing training under Matt Williams and now I’m heading home for the World Youth Games Selection Camp and then coming back to compete at Kentucky, Thunderbird and Spruce Meadows then onto Europe to compete and train with Team Equests stables”
We wish Chloe all the best for what is an exciting time in her career.
