2016 Queensland Grand Prix Horse of the Year
Round Six Wrap Up
Queensland Country Grand Prix Championships
The Queensland Country Championships were hosted by the Bundaberg Show and we thank them for hosting the Event. The surface was very well prepared and the riders appreciated all the efforts from the Committee to make things great for horses and riders alike. John Vallance was flown up from Sydney and built technical but very rideable tracks.
The Grand Prix Country Title was very hotly contested with an exciting jump off in front of an enthusiastic crowd. 8 faulters & less were invited back to the second round, 5 of the 9 horses coming back had jumped clear in the first round. The second round saw only three horses jump clear against the clock.
Clem Smith & Guru posted a very fast time which saw them become the 2016 Queensland Country Grand Prix Champions also making them Dual Queensland Champions after his win at the State Titles earlier in the month.. Guru has now won three rounds of the Series and jumps to the lead with Smith’s other horse Delilah in second place.
