Full podium for Aussies in Takapoto Gold Tour Final
What a way to finish off two weeks of competition at Takapoto Estate Show Jumping for the Australian riders. The Gold Tour Final is the ultimate class of the event and is hotly contested each year. This year we had eight Aussies making up the total field of 24 and have finished with six in the top ten, including a monopoly of the podium.
In the first round we had five riders clear; Izabella Stone, Amanda Madigan, Paul Brent, Amber Fuller and Kate Hinschen. The Australians were joined by three kiwis Oliver Croucher and Sarah West with Nakeysha Lammer coming through to the second round as the fastest four-faulter.
Kate Hinschen and Finch Farm Cadel
Nakeysha Lammer was first out rode clear to finish on four penalties from the two rounds. The next three combinations had four faults each then came Kate Hinschen and Finch Farm Cadel who rode a great round, going clear in a speedy 52.11. Paul Brent was next out with Fontaine Blue VDL getting a great clear but slightly slower than Hinschen in a time of 55.4 to finish second. Amber Fuller and CP Aretino took third place with Amanda Madigan and Diamond B Vivienne in fourth. Sarah West was the best of the Kiwis in fifth place.
