Impeccable grounds for a great weekend of jumping at SSJC Championships

The Sydney Showjumping Club Championships, which were rescheduled from the end of last year due to wet weather, were run this weekend at Clarendon, NSW. The Championships once again highlighted this premier jumping venue which provided competitors and spectators alike with a wonderful environment for competition. With four arenas in play and classes ranging from 45cm up to Grand Prix, there was something for everyone and the committee should be congratulated on once again hosting an outstanding competition.

Grand Prix Championship
Back in action for the start of the year, current Australian Senior Champions Amber Fuller and CP Aretino set themselves up for a great year ahead by delivering the only double clear over the two rounds. Kate Hinschen and Finch Farm Cadel who came second in yesterday’s Grand Prix Warm-Up class also came second today and Madeline Sinderberry and Oaks Kosmo who won the warm-up yesterday came in third today.

It was a tight competition for the Mini Prix Championship, but it was Andrew Inglis and Alillie who after finishing seventh in yesterday’s warm-up class took the win today from yesterday’s winners Amelia Douglass and Sirius Du Granit, with a consistent third place going to Vicki Roycroft and Dynamite Bay.

It was first and second for Tess McInerney today as she shone in the Young Rider Championship on her lovely horses Alpha Centauri and Warraleigh Park Cortez. A very fitting win given the McInerney’s sponsorship of the class through their business Geopro Footings.
