Jennifer Smith crowned 2019 NSW Amateur Champion
The NSW Amateur Rider Title was one of the Championship classes decided at the NSW State Showjumping Championships over the weekend. It was a close competition, in more ways than one. Let’s see how the action unfolded over the course of the Series.
The First Round speed class was held on Friday afternoon and was taken out by just over half a second by Alisa Williams and Versace Vision.

Going into the final, we had two combinations tied in the lead, those being Anna White and Body Builder and Jennifer Smith and Country Platinum. With a further four combinations within a single rail of the lead we knew we were in for an exciting final.
In the first round of the final there were eight clear rounds, however Anna White and Body Builder took a rail, meaning that Jennifer Smith and Country Platinum, who were clear were alone in the lead. Another clear round and the championship would be theirs.
In the second round, amazingly, an identical time of 48.27 seconds was recorded by both Michael Cross and Little Bear and Jennifer Smith and Country Platinum. On this basis they were declared the joint winners of the final.
