The Larapinta FEI World Cup Qualifier show wrapped up yesterday afternoon, bringing to a conclusion four days of magnificent Jumping competition on the wonderful grounds of Larapinta Equestrian. The weather was fantastic for jumping and a large crowd enjoyed the final day of the show.

On the Langs Building Supplies Arena 1, the action opened with the final of the Kolora Lodge Juniors competition. Of the 48 combinations on the start list, 16 produced clear rounds, giving rise to an exciting jump off. There were only two combinations, however, that managed to complete a second clear round and the fastest of these were Victorians Olivia Price and the mare Lafayette MVNZ. They were just over a second quicker than the second placed Jack Barker and Tulara For Quinar, while the fastest of the four-faulters in the jump off, Skye Hosie and Athena NZPH settled into third place.

The Stonewall Amateur Final was the next class on Arena 1. This time, there was only one double clear performance, that being by Gold Coast Vet Practice Manager, Victoria Hawthorne and her mare Cecee. Second place went to Rebecca bates and WHF Colin Frissell in second and Thomas Madigan with La Chance rounding out the podium.

The CBI Group Arena 2 hosted three classes; an open 1.10m, an open 1.20m and a TSHA 1.20m class. The 1.10m class was won by Ashley Cutler and her gelding Emcee Vagabond, while Zali Young and Smooth Flight were victorious in the 1.20m class. Kadell Sykes and Rocket Of Gold were successful in the TSHA class, claiming their second win of the show following their success on Friday.

Also claiming their second win of the show were the winners of the first class on the Gold Coast Equestrian Centre Arena 3. Mia Jensen and her gelding Welcome Stranger were too good for the other 76 combinations in the class, completing the second section of this 2-phase class clear in just 31.05 seconds. In the next class, an open 1.00m event, the Queensland combination of Cody Tincknell and Lady Quincella Gold were victorious, also recording their second win of the show and Cody’s fourth win overall in what has been an excellent show for him.

Open 0.70m and 0.80m classes were scheduled on the BMI Resource Recovery Arena 4. The 0.70m class was won by Anita Bridge and the aptly named Genuine Article in a very tight tussle where only 0.26 seconds separated the first three placings. The 0.80m open was won by Queensland youngster Scarlet Hart aboard her mare Jadan Park Acapella.

It was a great show in which the organisers did a fantastic job to reorganise once it became clear that the grounds were too wet to jump on the scheduled first day. Congratulations goes to all the winners and placegetters on the final day of competition, which are all listed below.
