Madeline Sinderberry has continued her outstanding start to the FEI Jumping World Cup Australian League season, claiming the Caboolture World Cup Qualifier at the Peachester Lodge Festival of Showjumping with Camie Z.
The $20,000 Caboolture World Cup Qualifier, sponsored by Peachester Lodge, drew a big field of 32 combinations to tackle the Martin Otto (GER) designed course. The class brought together experienced World Cup competitors, international representation from New Zealand, and a number of riders stepping into World Cup company for the first time.
For those first-time World Cup riders, Caboolture marked an important moment. Taking a place in a World Cup field is a significant step in any rider’s career, and the number of new faces in the line-up was a positive sign for the depth beginning to build within Australian jumping.
At the top of the leaderboard, it was once again Madi and Camie Z who proved hardest to catch. After winning the previous World Cup qualifier at Werribee, Madi arrived at Caboolture already in strong form. She then backed that up in the best possible way, producing another faultless performance to take her second World Cup victory in a row.
Madi and Camie Z were one of only two combinations to finish on a clean score across both rounds. Their first round clear placed them firmly in contention, and when they returned for round two, they delivered again, stopping the clock in 43.56 seconds to secure the win.
Jess Brown also finished double clear with Elysian Fields Oceanus, taking second place on 0 penalties with a second round time of 48.01 seconds. Jeremy Whale took third with Kingslea Centrose, finishing on a total of 4 penalties after adding nothing in the second round and stopping the clock at 42.87 seconds.
Sarah McMillan and Tyrone VDL finished fourth on 4 penalties, while Melissa Blair and Selena C rounded out the top five, also on 4 penalties. Frida Lindgren and Wondaree Colleen placed sixth, followed by Olivia Hamood and Diangella in seventh, Sam Whale and Fleur Delacour in eighth, Rhys Stones and Ballentyne in ninth, and Chase Naylor in his first World Cup with Yirrkala Cameron in tenth.
The result strengthens Madi’s position early in the Australian League season, and her back-to-back World Cup wins with Camie Z now make her one of the combinations to watch as the series continues. Following the Werribee win, where Madi also filled second place with GC Chicane, her consistency across the opening legs has been difficult to ignore.
For Australian jumping, the class also carried a wider message. A 32-combination World Cup field, with a mix of established riders, rising combinations and first-time World Cup starters, shows that the league continues to provide an important pathway for the sport even with a number of our top combinations currently campaigning overseas in effort to gain selection for the upcoming World Championships in Aachen.
The day belonged to Madi Sinderberry and Camie Z. Two World Cup wins in succession, another double clear performance, and a season that is already building with real momentum.
