Due to the ongoing rain creating soggy footing, the ACT Showjumping Club, who were planning to run the NSW State Championships in Canberra, made the clever decision, just a week ago, to move the competition to Terry Snow’s Willinga Park, at Bawley Point on the NSW South Coast. A four-day program was shortened to three days and Day One of competition took place today.

The first class of the day on the Trailrace Main Arena was the Horseland Canberra First round of the NSW Children’s title. The win went to Valentina Hercus and Gold Play, with Victorian visitor Zara Adnams filling second and third places.

Round 1 of the Keenan Constructions NSW Amateur Title was won by Alisa Williams and Willybling by almost a three second margin. Almost five seconds was the winning margin in Round 1 of the Willinga Park NSW Junior Title, won convincingly by Ella Hayward and Edena DP.

Jess Rice-Ward dominated the First Round of the Team Priestley NSW Young Rider Title, when she was first with Denison Park Style and second with Dinero.

The first round of the Ouverture Sport Horses Mini Prix Championship went to Olympian James Paterson-Robinson with Dublin who he is campaigning on behalf of partner Sarah Duggan at the moment.

The Dowse Projects sponsored NSW Senior Title first round went to Amber Fuller and Nopal Van Tallaert with Izabella Stone finishing in second and third places. Round 1 of the Futurity Championship was won by Matt Irvine and Greengrove Calle I by a clear margin from Andrew Inglis and Laracas.
