Proud Moment for Australia as Jamie Winning-Kermond Advances to Final Round A in Fort Worth
Australia’s Jamie Winning-Kermond has continued her World Cup Final campaign in Fort Worth with Tulara Wat Colblensky, producing another determined performance in the Second Final and securing a place in Final Round A. After finishing 20th in the opening speed class, Jamie returned in the second final to place 21st with five faults, made up of one rail and one time fault, in 68.73 seconds.

The Second Final was won by America’s Kent Farrington and Greya, who headed a seven-horse jump-off after one of only seven clear rounds in the opening phase. Japan’s Eiken Sato and Chadellano JRA finished second, while France’s Kevin Staut and Visconti du Telman took third in another tough night of championship competition.

For Australian fans, though, the focus was firmly on Jamie and the Rachel Peel-owned Tulara Wat Colblensky. To be representing Australia at a World Cup Final is a significant achievement in itself, and after two demanding rounds against the best combinations in the world, Jamie has earned her place among the 30 riders who move through to the next stage of the championship.

The overall standings after Final II show Jamie sitting equal 21st on 20 penalties heading into Final Round A. Across the first two finals, Jamie has collected 31 World Cup points, leaving her tied on penalties with America’s Laura Kraut as the championship heads into its next phase.

At the top of the standings, Kent leads on zero penalties, ahead of Steve Guerdat on four and Kevin Staut on six, but from an Australian perspective the story is now about backing Jamie all the way. Final Round A will be held on Sunday in Fort Worth, which means an early Monday start for Australian viewers, and there will be plenty of people at home following every round.
