Rowan Willis withdraws from Olympics but looks positively towards the future
It has been a disappointing couple of weeks for Rowan Willis after missing out on Olympic selection last week, and today we learnt that the has made the the hard decision, in the best interests of his wonderful mare Blue Movie aka ‘Carrots‘, to withdraw from the position of Alternate Athlete “I don’t feel it’s in Carrots’ best interest to do all that travelling and likely not jump” Rowan told us… “We wish the Australian team the best of luck & success in Tokyo and, along with the rest of Australia we will be cheering them on”
Not being selected for the team has just made this talented athlete more determined than ever as he looks towards the future. Rowan has been as busy at the World Equestrian Centre (WEC) in Florida and is looking to the future with enthusiasm.
“All of this has certainly given me a lot of motivation, as you may have seen by the pace of my jump offs the last few weeks in the $75k Saturday night Grand Prix at the incredible new WEC!” “I am lucky to have a great team of horses at the moment so am now aiming for some good 4* shows in New York and then be ready for 3 weeks at Spruce Meadows in September, aiming to go one better than last time we competed there!”

We wish Rowan all the best for his upcoming competitions and are sure that his Olympic dream is only temporarily on hold.
