Super Saturday at the Larapinta World Cup Show

The action has wrapped up this afternoon on the third day of the Larapinta World Cup Show. The feature class today was the National Storage World Cup and a full account of that class can be seen in our separate article, Click HERE.
The Future Stars final opened the day on Lang Building Supplies Arena 1. Just as they had won the first and second qualifying round, Billy Raymont and Balian D/N Hop Z did it again today with a double clear performance, highlighted by a scintillating second round, almost four seconds clear of the second placed combination. Amelia Douglass who is listed as the owner of the horse, might have a fight on her hands to get the horse back off Billy, when she returns from competing in Europe.

In the Mini Prix, the win went to Samantha Dernee and mare Laurel Glen Quintessence topping off a fine show for them after finishing first and then third in the two qualifying rounds.

After the World Cup, the afternoon’s entertainment was topped off by an exciting 6-Bar competition which was won by William Wood and gelding Powerhouse Park Ego Roc.
The CBI Group Arena 2 saw just two classes of competition today. Jess Kiernan and her young gelding, Glenara Argyle took the win in the 1.20m championship, while James Hosie and AMS Ajaccio NZPH dominated the Junior class going clear, almost four seconds faster than their nearest rival.
On the Gold Coast Equestrian Centre Arena 3, Clem Smith and Quantico 12 were victorious in the 1.25m championship class, while Imogen Tutton and Henton Exchequer put in a fine double clear performance to claim the win in the 1.15m Amateur class.
Meanwhile, on the BMI Resource Recovery Arena 4, the Championship for riders 12 years and under required a 14-way jump off to sort out the podium positions. The fastest of nine double clear performances went to Julia Dalgety and Lady Of Diamonds who repeated their win in yesterday’s children’s class. There were also nine double clear performances in the other Arena 4 class, the 1.15m Championship. Robert Goodwin and Warrego William took out the class in a very close tussle, with all three podium sitters going double clear and less than half a second between first and third place.
It was a great day of jumping and we have more to look forward to tomorrow. The main Arena will see the following classes decided:
8:00 am – Kolora Lodge Junior Final (1.25m)
11:30 am – Stonewall Amateur Final (1.20m)
2:30 pm – Stal Tops Australian Young Rider Series – Leg 2 (1.30m)
