Victoria Hawthorne and ‘Cecee’ win inaugural Sienna Weir Amateur Series event
The Sienna Weir Amateur Series is a tribute to a lovely young showjumper who died tragically in 2023 doing what she absolutely loved most in life – jumping her horse. Sienna competed successfully as a Junior and a Young Rider and throughout her University time, competed successfully as an Amateur rider.
Sienna’s parents JoAnna Fisher and Geoff Weir initiated this series for Amateur riders in Sienna’s memory with help from Sienna’s coach Sharon Slater.
The Series will be held at four events towards the end of each year with the first one run yesterday at Waratah Showjumping World Cup Show. The remaining events for this year will be:
Round 2 – Stonewall GP: October 2024
Round 3 – SSJC End of Year Champs: December 2024
Final Round – Summer Classic: December 2024
The Weir Family have contributed the prize money for the events at each show – and at the final there will be rugs and Prize Money for the Winner and Runner Up of the Series.
Congratulations to the inaugural winners of this event Victoria Hawthorne and Cecee who went double clear with the fastest jump-off time of 40.29 to take the win.
