Victorian Titles all set for weekend Finals

Day two of the Cavalor Equicare Victorian State Jumping Titles were held yesterday at the Werribee Park National Equestrian Centre with Round 2 competition held in all Series. For the major championship titles it was the last chance for combinations to position themselves in the best possible ranking going into finals at the weekend.

The first class on the Cavelor arena was the second round of the Petcover Victorian Junior Series, which saw a reversal of Round 1’s top two combinations. Taking the Round 2 win in a jump-off time of 36.13 seconds were Hayden Parker and Yirrkala Pippi Longstockings, with Tilley Fair and Bella Bonita second in 37.06 seconds. As in Round 1, third place went to Charlie Dobbin and Yarra Valley Jelly Bean, who finished the jump-off in 38.64 seconds. With these three combinations and a further four going double clear, Sunday’s final is sure to be high quality.

The next class was Round 2 of the Leader Equine Victorian Childrens Series which, as in Round 1, saw the win going to South Australian visitors Imogen Lindh and Nightwish, clear, in a time of 60.22 seconds. Second place went to local star Zara Adnams and Dingmac Disco King, in 61.25 seconds, with third going to Tanner Robinson and Charlie, up one place from their fourth the previous day in 62.39 seconds.

Next was the second round of the IHB Stars of The Future Series, which saw Madeline Sinderberry and Balentino clear in 68.54 seconds taking the win. Second place went to Tyrone Latham and Arion Carasun in 68.86 seconds with third place filled by the Round 1 winning combination of Jamie Winning-Kermond and Yandoo Honolulu.

The second round of the Petcover Victorian Senior Series was won by Philip Lever and Lomachenko after an exciting jump-off where the pair scooted around the jump-off course in 43.60 seconds. Second place went to Brook Dobbin and Gina MVNZ, who finished in 46.24 seconds. Making it a Victorian clean sweep of the placings third place went to the Round 1 winners, Ally Lamb and Eagle Rock. Sunday is sure to see a thrilling final in what appears to be a very open contest.

Last but not least on the program for the Cavelor Arena was the second round of the Petcover Victorian Young Rider Series. Going one better than their second placing in Round 1 were Jess Rice-Ward and Dinero with the only double clear performance of the class. Second place went to Georgia Bouzaid and AP Ninja, with Lucy Locke and Quero Quero in third after Georgia and Lucy both took a rail in the jump-off.
