The 2026 Doherty Construction WA State Jumping Titles brought four big days of competition, community and celebration to Serpentine Horse and Pony Club, with riders from across Western Australia stepping forward for one of the state’s major Jumping events.

After two years at Yalambi Farm Stud, the WA State Jumping Titles returned to Serpentine from 30 April to 3 May, hosted by Jumping Promotions Events WA and warmly supported by the local Serpentine community. The event brought together riders, officials, sponsors, volunteers and supporters for a championship that showcased both the depth of talent in Western Australian Jumping and the strength of the community behind it.

Competition ran across two grass arenas throughout the weekend. In Arena 2, the Ovarit Jumps Arena, WA course designer Shannon Jeffes built tracks that tested riders across the programme, while the Jumping WA main arena featured courses designed by Victoria’s Ed McNair for the major title classes. NSW commentator Rod McQueen also made the trip west, bringing his trademark professionalism, knowledge and humour to the event. Rod has long been warmly embraced by the WA Jumping community, and his commentary added another layer to the atmosphere across the four days.

By the close of competition, a new group of Western Australian title winners had been crowned.

Caitlin Bolger and Yalambi’s Messiah claimed the Senior Title, delivering a strong performance in one of the feature classes of the championships. One of the standout stories of the event came from the junior ranks, where Allira Bond and Yalambi’s Ohranj took out both the Junior Title and the Young Rider Championship. It was an impressive double for Allira and a strong reflection of the consistency and partnership she produced across the weekend.

In the Children’s Championship, Chloe Land and Key Emblem secured the title, while Nikki Oliver and Centime took out the Amateur Championship. Leon Carrol and Concorde’s Balou claimed the Mini Prix Championship, and Olivia Crossen and Gamibe G8P added their names to the honour roll with victory in the State Speed Title.

The Young Horse Championships also played an important role in the programme, giving the next generation of jumping horses their moment in the spotlight. Titles went to Kanndyman M in the seven-year-old division, Yalambi’s Princeton in the six-year-old division, Taminga Chilli Chocolate in the five-year-old division, and Amaloo J’Adore in the four-year-old division.

While the competition was at the heart of the event, the 2026 WA State Jumping Titles also placed a strong focus on bringing people together. The organising team delivered a social programme that gave riders, supporters and sponsors the chance to connect away from the arena and enjoy the wider championship atmosphere.

On Saturday evening, 120 guests attended the Night Social Function, with live music and dancing adding to the celebration. The following day, the VIP Hospitality tent welcomed invited guests, including support partners, shire representatives and long-standing members of the Jumping WA community. It was a fitting way to recognise the people and organisations whose ongoing support helps make events of this scale possible.

A further highlight across the weekend was an equine art exhibition featuring a live painting display by Melissa Gajda Art, adding a creative and memorable element to the event.

The championships also reached beyond those attending in person, with support from a local shire community grant helping make international livestreaming possible. This allowed family, friends and supporters to follow the competition from across Australia and further afield, giving WA Jumping a valuable platform to be seen by a wider audience.
