World Championships Selection Policy released
With less than 5 months to go to the start of the 2022 Equestrian World Championships, Equestrian Australia has today released the selection policy for the Jumping team. The FEI World Championships for Dressage, Jumping, Para-Equestrian and Vaulting will take place in Herning, Denmark from the 6th to the 14th August, with the jumping competition commencing on Wednesday 9 August and concluding on Sunday 14 August.
While the document is detailed and lengthy, in summary the process is as follows:
- The qualification period for selection commenced on 1 January 2021 and will conclude on 4 July 2022.
- The National Jumping Selection Panel (NJSP) will be looking to nominate a short list of up to 10 horse and athlete combinations on or before the 1 July 2022.
- On or before 11 July 2022, the NJSP will nominate the four competing combinations as well as a travelling reserve combination. An additional three reserve combinations will be nominated but not ranked.
