The second leg of the 2025 Stal Tops Young Rider Series, presented by Toti Equestrian was run and won yesterday, as part of the Festival of Showjumping held at the Queensland State Equestrian Centre, in Caboolture. In an exciting class, which saw some very high-quality riding on show, the win went to Queensland based Cody Tincknell and Numero Too.
In a class where there were six double clear performances, Cody and his 12-year-old gelding shone brightest with a sizzling jump off time of 38.38 seconds which no other combination could match. Second place went to Tanner Robinson and her mare Casiana who despite a valiant effort, finished the jump off in a time of 39.51 seconds. Hudson Craig, aboard Oaks Botswana came in third in a time of 40.92 seconds, securing the placing by the slightest of margins from that man again, Cody Tincknell and his gelding Mountain View Our Balou, fourth in 40.93 seconds.
Cody shared about the class, “It played out very well. My horse has been on fire the last about 10 shows and he’s really kept his own.”
Cody acknowledged a bit of luck during the first round, but in the second round, his horse jumped flawlessly, not touching a single fence. “It was a great class, great competition,” he remarked. Looking ahead, Cody has exciting plans for the remainder of the year. “The horse will probably have three or four weeks off and then I’ll prep him for the Brisbane Royal,” he stated. Following Brisbane, the duo will head to Willinga, Melbourne Royal and then Boneo.
In all there were 25 combinations on the start list with a whopping 19 of these finishing their round either clear, or with just four penalties. With eleven clear combinations back for the jump off it was the first out combination of Cody Tincknell and Numero Too that set the standard that none of the following 10 combinations could match. It was a breakthrough win for this combination who placed second in the final leg of the 2024 series behind the eventual winning rider from 2024, Jack Barker.
