Charlie Magnier does the double adding Junior title to his Young Rider title
The fourth and final of the major championships has wrapped up here at the Pet Circle Australian Jumping Championships this afternoon. The Winning Group Australian Junior Championship was decided after two qualifying classes on Thursday and Friday and then today’s final class which was a competition over two rounds.

In a well-deserved win after completely dominating the competition, Charlie Magnier and his recently imported gelding Ogano took the title. This pair gave nobody else a chance today. They came into the final leading the way as the only combination on zero penalties and a pair of faultless rounds ensured that they could not be caught. With five rides over the course of the championship and not a single rail disturbed, this combination could not have been more impressive. The win today topped off what has been a memorable championship for Charlie as he also won the Young Rider Championship yesterday (Click HERE for our full wrap on that Final).

Further to emphasise the class and skill of young Charlie, he also took second place in this championship aboard his trusty mare Quinn Z. They started the final in second place on a total of four penalties and a pair of clear rounds today ensured that that is where they stayed.
The pattern repeated itself with respect to the awarding of third place. Coming into today’s final in third place, the winners of the 2023 Junior Championship, Jack Barker and Tulara for Quinar put together a pair of clears to remain on the five penalties they carried into the final.

Imogen Lindh and Licaviv who came into the final on four penalties took a rail in the first round today, extending their total to eight. This was enough to land them in fourth place which is exactly where they finished in the junior championship last year.
It was a fantastic championship to watch unfold. The standard of riding was exceptional with the top three placegetters completing the championship without disturbing a rail. As fans of the sport, we have plenty to look forward to as these Junior riders progress during the years to come.
