Depth, Pressure and Results at GDP Classic 2026
The 2026 edition of the GDP Classic was not just about what happened on Sunday afternoon. It was about what built towards it. From the Teams Spectacular on Friday through to the Grand Prix on Sunday, there was strength at every level on every day. Thirty-plus starter fields, full jump-offs, and riders appearing again and again in the results gave the week weight from start to finish.

Friday’s Teams Spectacular immediately showed the depth of the field. Eight teams lined up and only two completed the first round on zero penalties, forcing a jump-off between Divas Beverages and Coolmore Australia & Peachester Lodge.
Alexander Jang and Anneliese Wansey delivered clears for Divas Beverages before Jack Barker stepped forward with Oaks Cryptic in the jump-off, stopping the clock at 38.57 to secure the win. Coolmore Australia & Peachester Lodge finished second on 39.24. Read more about the Teams Challenge HERE.

Saturday belonged to the developing ranks and the statistics underline how competitive those classes were.
The Stal Tops Young Rider saw 30 starters and just four double clears. Alexander and Parallax SCF secured the title with a 42.35 jump-off round. Charlie Magnier and Notre Dame de Bourgignon were second on 43.51, with Olivia Price and Lafayette MVNZ third on 48.22.
The Rising Stars Final produced 25 starters and 13 double clears into the jump-off. Jack Barker and Tulara Diadello took the win in 29.75. Joel Lamb and Hugh Buchanan followed closely behind.
The Future Stars Final drew 33 starters with 17 clears in round one. Robert Palm and Comme Fu stopped the clock at 46.16 in the jump-off to win.
Frida Lindgren and Moviestar 1 were second on 46.75, with Anneliese Wansey and Glenara Baccarat third on 49.50.
By Sunday, the show had built real momentum.
The Children’s Championship saw 13 starters and four double clears. Iliana Hercus filled the top two placings, winning with Ego Miss Moët in 34.33 and finishing second with Black N White in 35.56. Amelia Terrill and Redcliffs Guns and Roses were third on 35.77.
The Junior Championship followed with 31 starters and eight double clears. Valentina Hercus mirrored the performance, winning with Carousel GV in 39.40 and finishing second with Cera Catalina in 39.70. Tanner Robinson and Charlie were third on 41.67.
The Mini Prix attracted 29 starters and produced five double clears. Chris Chugg and Cristallina secured the win on zero penalties in both rounds. Madeline Sinderberry and Camie Z were second, with Rhys Stones and Night Shade third.
The Grand Prix drew 27 starters with nine clears in round one and three double clears deciding the podium. Emma Collins and Oaks Abracadabra stopped the clock at 46.54 in round two to secure the title. Jack Barker and Bellhaven Calisco followed on 47.73. From the first team round on Friday to the final rail of the Grand Prix, the message was clear. There is depth in Australian Jumping, strength in the emerging ranks, and a visible pathway from young horse to championship level.
