Hilary Scott – Australian Jumping Senior Rider of 2021
Yesterday we announced our ‘Australian Jumping’ U25 Rider of the Year (click HERE) and today, we take great pleasure in announcing the ‘Australian Jumping’ Senior Rider of 2021 – Hilary Scott.
Despite the challenges of 2021 including COVID and Equine Herpes Virus, Hilary has had a wonderful year of competition including being chosen to represent Australia at two FEI Nations Cup events, firstly in Drammen in Norway in August (read more HERE), and then in Vejer de la Frontera in Spain in October (read more HERE). Australia’s second placing in Drammen was the highlight of the year.

While generally competing throughout Europe with her team from Oaks Sport Horses, Hilary made a visit to Canada to compete at Spruce Meadows in September, where she and Oaks Milky Way performed extremely well and to much acclaim, finishing in the top 10 more than once, against very strong competition.
Hilary’s consistent performances over the year have seen her FEI world raking rise considerably from 846th in the world at the beginning of 2021 to just 381st in the most recently released rankings, issued in early December. This makes her currently Australia’s fourth top ranked rider, behind just Rowan Willis, Katie Laurie and Edwina Tops-Alexander.
We congratulate Hilary on a great year of competition and look forward to seeing her progress throughout 2022 as she strives to achieve one of the coveted positions representing Australia at the 2022 World Championships to be held in Denmark in August.
