Longines Global Champions adds 3 spectacular destinations to 2019
The Longines Global Champions Tour have announced further strategic expansion and will stage spectacular new events in the cities of Stockholm, Montreal and New York in 2019.
The calendar of events is now out, kicking off in DOHA on 28 February. The full list of dates is as follow:

For the first time Stockholm, Sweden now takes its place on the LGCT global circuit, joining a powerful list of cites. From June 14th to 16th 2019 the elite horses and riders in show jumping will attend the Longines Global Champions Tour of Stockholm at the City’s historic Olympic Stadium. The arena has a strong heritage in equestrian sport dating back over 100 years, including the Olympic Games in 1912 and 1956 and the World Equestrian Games in the summer of 1990.
The global circuit now includes Canada for the first time and will feature a stunning new venue at the Old Port of Montreal with dramatic views of the City skyline. Montreal, in Quebec province, is set on an island in the St Lawrence River and will be a thrilling stage for world class show jumping with the best riders and horses descending on the city from 20 -22 September for this new leg of the LGCT and GCL team series.

The new event in New York, one of the world’s greatest cities, will take place on Governors Island, with breathtaking views of the Statue of Liberty and the Lower Manhattan skyline, and will be the prestigious final event of the 2019 regular season. The 172-acre Governors Island in the heart of New York Harbour, close to Manhattan and Brooklyn, is a former military base transformed into a venue for sport, art, culture and includes the beautiful new Hills area rising up to 70 feet above sea level with panoramic views of the historic harbour and will host this leg of the tour.
