One step closer for 2018 Tamworth World Cup Qualifier Show Championships
With the first rounds completed yesterday, competition in all six tours to be decided at the 2018 Tamworth World Cup Show, heated up today. Positions in the finals, to be held tomorrow, were at stake and the competition was fierce. Below is a summary of all today’s championship action.

THE PROFESSIONALS TAMWORTH SILVER TOUR – SECOND QUALIFIER (1.40m)
The first class today on the 4CYTE indoor arena at AELEC was the second qualifying round of the Silver Tour. This class was an A2, therefore the winner would be the combination with the least faults, however, should faults be equal, then the fastest time would count.
Thirty-six combinations attempted the course with thirteen recording clear rounds. Of these, the winner, by a margin in excess of 5 seconds, was James Arkins and Rosthwaite Vigilante II. This was a much needed result for them as they finished twenty-third in yesterday’s first qualifier. Second place today went to Chris Chugg and PSS Levilensky, up from twentieth place yesterday. Third place went to Aaron Hadlow and Twins Easton VDL. Winner of the first qualifier, Katie Laurie and Esteban MVNZ did not start today, which throws the race for the Silver Tour title, wide open.

THE KOLORA LODGE AND TRAILRACE SADDLERY JUNIOR TOUR – SECOND QUALIFIER (1.40m)
Next class on the 4CYTE Indoor Arena was the second qualifying round of the Junior Tour. This class was held under the same rules as the Silver Tour event preceding it.
There were thirty-three participants and with ten clear rounds, the fastest of these ten was declared the winner. Maleah Lang-McMahon and KS Sovereign’s Cadel were first, almost 2.5 seconds clear of Victoria Hoy and Falklands. Cameron Moffatt and Dolly Varden came third by a very small margin.
The Kolora Lodge and Trailrace Saddlery Junior Tour, second qualifier, top six placings were:

THE AUSTBROKERS NTIB YOUNG RIDER TOUR – SECOND QUALIFIER (1.25m)
Next class on the 4CYTE Indoor Arena was the second qualifying round of the Young Rider Tour. A small field of 13 combinations were entered. This class, run under AM7 conditions saw combinations with a clear round invited to take part in a jump off immediately after the completion of their first round.
Only four combinations were clear and through to the jump off. The clear winner, by almost seven seconds was Laura Munt and Colombo, who improved from their fifth position yesterday. Second today was Hunter Valley rider Cade Hunter (Australian Jumping’s Featured Rider from May this year) and Midnight Rock who consolidated their third placing from yesterday. Third place today went to Samantha Dernee and TP All Class who rode the fasted time in the jump off, but was relegated to third by virtue of incurring a single rail. Yesterday’s winning combination, Charlie Kinder and Renmarno finished in sixth place today.

THE TAMWORTH INTERNATIONAL EVENTING RISING STARS TOUR – SECOND QUALIFIER (1.15m)
The second qualifying round of the Rising Stars Tour was held on the Capricorn Arenas Ring 2 here at ARLEC today. This class was held under the same rules as the Silver Tour second qualifier, so there was no jump off required. A large field of forty-one combinations tackled the course with fifteen of them recording clears.
The fastest clear time, and therefore the win, went to the same combination who won the first qualifier yesterday, James Arkins and WP Grandiamo. Second place went to Gemma Creighton and Ricochet CG, which was a big improvement on their nineteenth placing yesterday. Third went to Thomas Sedger and Mountain View Our Balou, a massive 34 placings higher than yesterday.

THE HUNTED GOURMET BRONZE TOUR – SECOND QUALIFIER (1.25m)
The second qualifying round of the Bronze Tour, was the next class held on the Capricorn Arenas Ring 2. A massive field of fifty-one combinations attempted the course and with no jump off scheduled, only a fast, clear round would do to have a shot at a placing. As it turned out, there were twenty-three clears recorded, the fastest of which went to Sam Overton and Oaks Casanova. This proves this combination’s consistency as they finished third yesterday in the first qualifier. A close second went to Chloe Hughes riding the stunning Hi Viz. Third went to Patrick Everingham and Bellhaven Misty Blue, up from ninth position yesterday.

THE ICEPACK CHILDREN’S TOUR – SECOND QUALIFIER (0.90m)
The second qualifying round in the Children’s Tour, open to riders 14 years of age and under, was held on the Capricorn Arenas Ring 3 this afternoon. High quality riding saw sixteen of twent-six starting combinations record clear rounds.
Fist place went to Ayla Ryan and Inka, which was a great improvement on their seventeenth placing yesterday. Second went to Emily Lang-McMahon and K.S. Rosie with third going to her twin sister Elkee Lang-McMahon riding K.S. Pepper, and improvement from fifth and sixteenth place respectively. First qualifier winner, Ella O’Neill and Gunner Do Dancer had a single rail today and finished out of the placings.
