Podium finish for Kate Hinschen at Takapoto, New Zealand
Australian riders have had a great first week at the Takapoto Estate Showjumping in New Zealand. Yesterday, Amber Fuller and CP Aretino were runners up in the 2nd Qualifier of the Gold Tour and today, Kate Hinschen and Finch Farm Cadel delivered the goods to come second in the Gold Tour Final, with Amelia Douglass and Sirius Du Granit finishing in sixth spot.

Ten combinations came back for the second round of the Gold Tour Final over the Gerrit Beker-designed course, amongst them Aussies Kate Hinschen and Amelia Douglass.
Bridget Berry and Toulon NZPH finished with 4 faults in the first round and unfortunately didn’t make the jump-off. It also wasn’t to be Amber Fuller and CP Aretino‘s day, with an uncharacteristic 8 faults in the first round for this combination.

After a couple more clears but in a slower time, all the pressure was on New Zealander Tegan Fitzsimon and Windermere Cappuccino, the last combination to enter the arena and indeed they stopped the clock at 56.65 seconds much to the delight of a very appreciative crowd.
We are looking forward to a thrilling second week of this show and are excited to be heading over to cheer our riders on.
