At the completion of the age competitions, proceedings moved to the indoor arena where the champion of champions was determined. This involved our international judge, the esteemed horsewoman Helena Torstensson from Sweden, making an assessment of the horses. Each of the four age champions were put through a short routine with Torstennson riding each in turn. After a short conference with her fellow judges, Sue Coman and John McMillan, the big announcement was made.
The Jumping Champion of Champions for DJWTS 2022 is Yalambi’s Messiah (Cardento x Yalambi Faith Van Dabyijhoeve by Heartbreaker) ridden by Caitlin Bolger.
This combination were the winners of the Trailrace 5-year-old competition with a dominant win in round 1, followed by second place in Round 2 and fifth place in the final. This left them tied in the lead, however, due to their performance in Round 2, they were named the age champions.
This horse is a grey warmblood stallion and is owned by Caitlin Bolger. It was bred at Yalambi Farm Stud, located at Wilyabrup in WA.
Hopefully over the years ahead, we will see this horse develop and mature into one of the stars of the Australian Jumping scene.
