AQUIS ARENA – RING 1
CLASS 1.22: My Coolman – Mini Prix
A total of 82 combinations made up the start list for the Mini-Prix. It looked as if the course might have been a particularly tough one as we had to wait quite a while for the first clear round. However, by the end of he first round there had been 22 clears with the fastest going to last year’s Aquis Gold Tour Winner, Merrick Ubank, this time riding Warrego Landadon.
The jump-off was an exciting affair, with one of the last few combinations on course, Olivia Hamood and Lady Jane GHP taking the win by more than a second from Paul Brent and Fontaine Blue VDL, with Russell Johnstone and Dondersteen a very close third.
The top eight placegetters in this class were:
PLACE | RIDER | HORSE | $ |

CLASS 1.23: Appliances Online – 1.50m Grand Prix
The main class for the day and indeed the first phase of the show was the 1.50m Grand-Prix. An elite field of 43 entered, only six of which recorded clear rounds. The fastest of these was the Sydney World Cup Qualifier winning combination of Brooke Langbecker and Quintago 1.
In the jump-off, there were only two clears achieved, by Tom McDermott and …. Tom McDermott. Alpha Activity, piloted by McDermott, scorched around the track in just 52.20 seconds to be clear winners from McDermott and Yalambi’s Finnigan. Best of the rest was last year’s Tamworth World Cup Qualifying Round winning combination of Kate Hinschen and Finch Farm Cadel. McDermott, fresh from his success at the Sydney Royal last week, stamped his dominance on the class by also filling fourth place on Elegance De La Charmille (only 0.22 seconds off third!).
The top eight placegetters in this class were:

CLASS 1.24: Chatham Park – 1.30m – Young Rider Championship
The final class of the day was the Young Rider Championship. While 34 combinations were entered, only five clear rounds were recorded, the fastest of which was by NSW South Coast resident, Jamie Priestley and Kolora Stud Optimus. This set up a small but fascinating jump-off.
As it turned out, nothing less than double clear was needed to be rewarded with a place on the podium. The fastest clear in the jump-off was achieved by Victoria Hoy and Falklands, just over half a second faster than Priestley and Kolora Stud Optimus. Third place went to the recently named Most Successful Young Rider at Sydney Royal, Jessica Tripp and Diamond B Verona.
