Finals day at the 2021 edition of Dressage and Jumping with the Stars at the Werribee Park National Equestrian Centre dawned clear and crisp. The final round of the Trailrace Saddlery Australian Young Jumping Horse 4-year-old competition was the first class decided yesterday morning.
Despite finishing in second place in the final round of the competition, the overall winner of the 4-year-old championship was Tom McDermott and Clasique Emerella (Emerald Van’t Ruytershof x Fiorella 104 by Full Speed). Their total score over the three rounds was 238.33.
The winner of the final round was Anthony March and the bay gelding Desert Sands Arkos, (Arko III x Desert Sands Rose by Regal Salute), which gave them enough points to finish in second place in the championship on a score of 234.67.
Third place in the final and the overall championship went to Stephen Dingwall and Nisha with a total score of 229.67.
The best presented award was won by Hayley Gears and Rockwell (Rotspon x Fantasia by Grande Farnesse).

The final round of the Fleet Plant Hire Australian Young Jumping Horse 5-Year-Old competition was the next class held on the main arena at D&JWTS
A second placing in the final was good enough to secure the championship win by Billy Raymont and a horse he owns, Tulara Dakchico (Dakar x Tulara Chico’s Girl by Chico’s Boy) after wins in rounds 1 and 2. Their total score was 253.33.
Frida Lindgren and Bonita (Balou De Rouet x Alondra) performed consistently thoughout the series with a fourth place in Round 1, and a second in Round 2. Their third place in todays’ final contributed to a final score of 246.99 which was enough to secure second in the championship.
The final winning combination of James Harvey and Yirrkala Celeste (Christian x Ukarla Exclusive by Escudo), scored a total of 246.17 to take third place in the championship.
The best presented in this competition was won by Chase Naylor and Tulara Flare (For Fashion x Cassedero by Cassini II).

The final of the Pryde’s Easifeeds Australian Young Jumping Horse 6-year-old championship was the next class on the main arena.
A win in the final round was enough to secure the championship for Billy Raymont and Cera Cadbury Z (Christian x Cera Calista by Clearway), with a score of 259.99.
Tom McDermott and Yalambi’s Kandy Ripple (Yalambi’s Fair Diamond VDL x Yalambi’s Gineya by Colman) who took out Round 1 and shared the win with Raymont in Round 2, finished second today to secure the championship second placing on 257.67 points.
A pair of fourth placings and a third in the final gave the very consistent Emma Smith and Lumi (Calgary GNZ x Licara by Accord II) overall third place in the championship with 250.49 points.
The best presented combination in the championship was awarded to Anthony March and Tulara Combine (Campaniero x Quinine by Quinar).

The penultimate class on the main arena today was the final round of the Parkridge Hay Australian Young Jumping Horse 7-year-old competition.
After winning the first two rounds, only an average performance in today’s final by Kate Hinschen and Yalambi’s Jadore (Carpino Z x Fendi by Val D’Isere) would have been enough to secure the title. However, just to make sure of it, they came out and produced a sensational round, (with the highest score of the championships, 89.50%), to take the win in today’s final and the overall championship, with a total score of 265.83.
An equal fifth place in the final was good enough for Gemma Creighton and Diangella (Diamont de Semilly x Tialotta Z by Toulon) to finish second in the championship with 247.99 points.
With a second placing today, Emma Smith and Bittern Park Karmen (Kannan x Bittern Park Darcey by Darko) scored a total of 247.83 points to take third place in the championship.
The best presented award went to Chloe Hughes and Ketut (Calgary GNZ x Balumiere by Balou Du Rouet).

The feature event of the weekend was the Wyndham City World Cup Qualifier, which is the first of 10 rounds of the series, to be held at 10 different venues in four states during the course of 2021. Today’s class also had the status of a “MER” (Minimum Eligibility Requirement) with a strong performance assisting combinations towards selection for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, to be held in about five months time.
