All eyes were on Tom McDermott today to see whether he could pull off the third victory of the Series on one of his talented team of horses. The first event, at Riders Series, saw McDermott and Alpha Activity take the win, with Diamont taking third. Waratah Showjumping saw McDermott again take the win, this time on Alpha Activity, with Diamont in second. Today Diamont was the star, taking the title, with Alpha Activity in second place.
It wasn’t an easy win for McDermott however, with stiff competition from a number of other riders. Twelve combinations came back for the jump-off, with 9 of them carrying zero penalties from Round One. In the end, it came down to time, with McDermott and Diamont taking the win in 42.61 seconds. McDermott and Alpha Activity were clear in 43.39 to take second, with Jennifer Wood and Cocaine Ego Z close on their tail, clear in 43.73. Double clears were also had by Amber Fuller and CP Aretino (43.85), McDermott and Yalambis Finnigan (46.89), Izabella Stone and Colina 54 (53.04), Amber Fuller and Barrichello (54.40) and Jessica Tripp and Diamond B Verona (55.05).
