A fantastic long weekend at the Boneo Classic

The 2019 Boneo Classic was held over the Australia Day long weekend and despite the heatwave sweeping southern Australia, it was a great few days of competition. Below we present the results of all the jumping classes held at the event.

DAY 1 (FRIDAY) CLASSES
OPEN 1.10m CLASS
A huge field of 70 participants contested the opening class of the weekend, which was taken out by Victorian Airlie Robinson and the mare Yalambis Corlandia, recording the fastest of 23 clear rounds. The first six placegetters in this class were:

PATONS MACHINERY OPEN 1.35m CLASS
Queenslander, Clem Smith and his gelding Guru, were victorious in this class with Jacob Wells and Cobra De Capello doing well enough to place second, just preventing Smith from recording a 1, 2 finish. The first six placegetters in this class were:

KIEREN HAULAGE OPEN 1.10m CLASS
The Tasmanian combination of Jo Geard and Ambervale Smudge, who finished third in the Open 1.30m class at the recent Tasmanian Championships, won a closely contested jump-off to take out this class. The first six placegetters in this class were:

FLEXIBLE FIT FUTURE STARS
It is a fantastic achievement to ride four different horses in a class of 37 entries at this level of competition, as Brook Dobbin did in this class. However, what makes his effort absolutely amazing, is the fact that he managed to place all four horses in the first six placegetters. Only a superb effort from James Harvey and Castlederg, stopped Dobbin from taking out the class. The first six placegetters in this class were:

A small number of 12 combinations entered this class. Good quality riding was the order of the day with the top five place-getters all going double clear. The winner, by just over half a second was Bronte Hutchison and the mare French Twist. The first six placegetters in this class were:
