Australian Jumping Championships – Day 4 wrap
A clear cool morning greeted riders on what was the penultimate day of the Pryde’s Easifeed Australian Jumping Championships from the beautiful Boneo Park Equestrian Centre on the Mornington Peninsula. Yesterday, Day 3, saw the end of the qualifying rounds for the Championship classes. Today was the first day of finals, leading up to the main event tomorrow, the Horseland Australian Senior Championship Final. EQUESTRIAN VICTORIA AUSTRALIAN CHAMPIONSHIP EMERALD SERIES – FINAL (1.10m)
The first class held on Ring 2 was the final of the Emerald series. After two qualifying rounds, the field was split, with the top half of the ranked combinations invited to compete in the final and the lower half eligible for a consolation final, also held today.
Good quality jumping saw 27 of the 49 participants go clear with the fastest being Round 1 winner, David Boulton and Little Arrow in 68.16 seconds.
The jump off saw 13 combinations record double clears with the fastest going to Victorian rider Tyrone Latham and Ellesmere Amici. Second place was taken out by the current Queenland Senior Champion Clem Smith and Quantico 21. Fellow Queenslander Jasmine Ritter and the OTT thoroughbred Blue Flame took out third place.
